Guido Moretti of Newington 83, beloved husband of 59 years of Virginia ( Kazlan) Moretti entered into eternal rest on June 3, 2009. He was the son of the late Luigi and Anita ( Perini) Moretti of New Britain. Guido was a mason and was a member of the Connecticut Bricklayers and Masons Union, Newington Chapter of American Legion, longtime member of the New England Western Dance Association , longtime member of the National Rifle Association, and was a member of The Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. Guido was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also served in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard W.W. ll and looked forward to his monthly reunions with retired Armed Guard members. Besides his wife Virginia ( Ginny) he is survived by his three daughters Lynda Regina and her husband Tom, Donna Beach and her husband Charles, Sandy Hastillo and her husband Alex and one son Jack Moretti. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as his sister Evelyn ( Joyce) Swanson and several nieces and nephews. Guido was always willing to give friends or strangers a helping hand with the thought that they would pay it forward. Funeral service will take place on Saturday June 6, 2009 at 8:00am at the Venskunas Funeral Home 670 Stanley St New Britain at which time calling hours will take place from 8:00am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial which will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington at 10:00am. Burial will follow with full military honors in St Mary Cemetery in New Britain.
