Charles Martin Broff 95, born October 11, 1913 went to meet his maker on June 14, 2009 after a brief illness. He was a life long resident of New Britain and a summer resident of White Sand Beach in Old Lyme for 61 years. He built his family's " new cottage" over 50 years ago. Charles was predeceased by his wife and best friend of 49 years Alda ( Vinick) Broff and his parents Margaret-Magdaline ( Digllis) Broff and Martin John Broff, his sister Ann, his brothers Joseph and Alfred. He is survived by his daughter Diane Broff Dodson and his granddaughter April and great granddaughter Katrina- the apple of his eye. Charles was employed by Skinner Precision Industries and retired from Goss & DeLecuw Machine Co of Kensington. He enjoyed fishing in Long Island Sound, hunting at his brother's farm and could usually be found tinkering and fixing most anything. He was a member of St Andrews Church and was proud of his Lithuanian heritage. Charles was a humble, hard working and generous man that was greatly respected and loved by his family.
