Bernice ( Dangveskas) Saks of New Britain entered into eternal rest on August 7, 2009. She was the daughter of the late John Dangveskas and Monica Andriyonas. She was the widow of Joseph Saks who died in 1969. Bernice was born in New Britain and at three years old she went back to Lithuania with her parents and then came back to New Britain when she was sixteen years old. She worked at Stanley Works for 25 years and then at Stamper until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of the Stanley Seniors, St Andrews Church , former Ladies Guild of St Andrews and the Lithuanian Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by two daughters and two son in laws Eleanor Shemansky and her husband Joseph Shemansky and Helen Czellecz and her husband John Czellecz and Bernice was also predeceased by her six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by one son Daniel Saks of Middlefield who was a wonderful , loving and devoted son , six granddaughters : Diane Freundlich, Carol Walton,Janet Pausig, Sandra Czellecz , Linda Kilbourne and her husband Attorney Dean Kilbourne and Daneen Termini and two grandsons Joseph Shemansky and Richard Saks and his wife Elizabeth, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a beloved niece Joan D’Angelo and a wonderful niece Sister Patricia Cook RSM of Preston. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday from the Venskunas Funeral Home 670 Stanley St New Britain at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St Andrews Church.
