Nellie ( Sylvester) Larson 84, of Plantsville, Ct died unexpectedly on October 11, 2009. She was the beloved wife of 61 years of Albert E. Larson Jr also of Plantsville. Nellie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna ( Grimaila) Sylvester. She was born in New Britain Ct and graduated from New Britain High School. She worked at North and Judd Mfg Company in New Britain ( where she met her future husband through his aunt), Aetna Insurance Company in Hartford, and then was the long- time secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's company, The Day Screw Machine Co. in New Britain. Following retirement, Nellie and Albert lived in Kensington before moving to Plantsville. Nellie was a life long member of St Andrews Church in New Britain. Nellie was also predeceased by her brother Joseph Sylvester, her sisters Aldona Zigas, Helen Sylvester and Adele Hubbard; and two infant daughters, Elizabeth and Carol Larson. She is survived by her son and daughter- in- law Dr Paul and Margaret( Peg) Larson of Oshkosh, WI; her gandsons Robert and Andrew Larson also of Oshkosh, her sister Eva Sylvester of Kensington, Ct and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday October 17, 2009 from the Venskunas Funeral Home 670 Stanley St New Britain from 8:45 am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at St Andrews Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will take place on Friday from 4-7:00pm.
