Obituary:
Paul DiFazio 71 of New Britain passed away on Nov. 27, 2009 at Hospital of Central Connecticut. He was born in Hartford, Ct and was the son of the late Pasquale( Pat) and Edith ( DiVincino) DiFazio and resided in New Britain most of his life. He attended local schools and Kingswood-Oxford School. He earned a bachelor's degree in English from Fairfield University. He went on to earn a law degree from George Mason University School of Law where he was scholastically ranked second in his first year class and graduated 13th in his class. Prior to attending law school he was an English teacher and assistant basketball and golf coach at RHAM High School and also was a contractor/developer. Paul was an avid skier and a member of the National Ski Patrol. He patrolled mainly at Stratton Mountain and Mt Snow, Dover, Vt where he had a second home. He was also an avid runner and walker and completed 13 marathons and over 140 organized races. He religiously followed a Vegan/Fruitarian diet from 1973 to the present and belonged to many Vegan/Vegetarian and " kindness to animals" organizations. He is survived by his close and beloved companion, Christine O'Neil of New Britain; a sister, Linda DiFazio of Old Lyme, Ct; a nephew, Michael Lech, his wife Kara and children Collin, Soleil Belle and Chase from Lyme, Ct.; and a niece Allyson Russell and her husband Scot and their three children Riley, Cooper and Pryce, all of Old Lyme,Ct. and is also survived by many deeply loved cousins and friends. There will be a private funeral and burial at the convenience of the family. Venskunas Funeral Home 670 Stanley St New Britain is in charge of arrangements. There are no calling hours.
