Obituary:
Caroline (Majka) Mazuronis of Kensington went home to her heavenly Father and family on Sunday, May 2. She was born on March 27, 1918 to John (Jan) and Wanda (Babula) Majka in New Britain.Caroline was predeceased by her husband Edward Mazuronis who entered into rest in 2009. She attended New Britain schools and graduated from the Connecticut Academy of Hairdressing. With her brother, the late Matthew Majka, she opened the Carol Matty Beauty Salon in 1937. She married the love of her life the late Edward G. Mazuronis in August of 1940. When Matty left the business to join the US Navy in WW II and Caroline carried on until her cousins took over the business in 1950 and it became the Majka Beauty salon. She and her beloved Eddie operated his stores- Park Radio & Appliance (later Park Radio & Television) and Park Package Store. She was a member St. Andrew’s Church, past president with her husband Edward of the St. Andrew’s Mr. & Mrs. Club, and a former member of the Polonaise Club of New Britain. In addition to her business and church activities she thoroughly enjoyed knitting for her grandchildren and the summers at Black Point Beach Club. She leaves to carry on her legacy, her daughter Gail Stempien and her husband Peter of Simsbury and her son Edward, Jr. and his wife Christine (Janusewski) of Kensington. Her grandchildren, Dr. April Stempien-Otero and her husband Dr. Henry Otero of Seattle, Holly Stempien Fink and her husband John Fink of San Francisco, Attorney Catherine Stempien and her husband Attorney James Bolin of Charlotte, NC, Edward Mazuronis III and his wife Katherine (Brown) of New Britain, John Mazuronis of Bristol and Thomas Mazuronis of Kensington. She also leaves her great-grand children Carlos and Rafael Otero, Noah Fink, Grace and L. Reed Bolin, Jaykob Mazuronis, Elyse Mazuronis and several cousins. Funeral services will take place on Thursday from the Venskunas Funeral Home 670 Stanely St New Britain. Calling hours will take place on Thursday morning from 9:00am until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St Andrews Church. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery.
