Povilas ( Paul) Karosas 89 of New Britain entered into eternal rest on Saturday , May 22, 2010. He was born in Lithuania on Dec, 8, 1920 and he came to the United States in 1949. During Paul's courageous battle with cancer he was taken care of by his devoted friend John Pleckaitis and his wife Aldona Pleckaitis of Plainville. Paul was a dedicated employee of Sodexo at Central Connecticut State University with over 40 years of service. He was a member of St Andrews Church in New Britain and he was also a member of the Lithuanian American Community. Paul was an avid reader and enjoyed music. He had a great love for his homeland which he frequently visited. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 8:45am from the Venskunas Funeral Home 670 Stanley St New Britain at which time friends can pay their respects until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at St Andrews Church at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Andrews Church PO Box 515 New Britain, Ct 06050.
