Mavis ( Kirtis) Cekas 78, of Newington entered into rest on Wednesday Jan. 16, 2008. Mavis was the widow of Dr George Cekas. Mavis was retired from Northeast Utilities and was a member of St Andrews Church. She is survived by two cousins Linda Brooks and Donna Rubida and a Godchild Janet Orefice. Funeral services will take place on Monday at 12 noon from the Venskunas Funeral Home 670 Stanley St followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St Andrews Church at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery. Calling hrs will take place at the funeral home from noon until the time of the burial mass.
